Defence Perspectives: from Fort Townsend to Fort William

Join long-time amateur historian and researcher, Alan Cass, and his daughter Alison Cass (a Happy City board member) to hear about the St John’s military defence perspectives from 1690 to 1945.
The walk will include discussion of the city’s defences, where they were sited, and why they changed during that period.
It will start at 12 noon on June 15th in the lobby of The Rooms museum and gallery, built over the ruins of Fort Townsend. Stops along the way include the sites of Fort William and The National War Memorial, where the walk ends.

Alison Cass recently introduced Jane’s Walks on CBC’s Morning Show!
