Our AGM presentation and a welcome to three new board members

For the benefit of those who missed our meeting, here’s a slightly trimmed version of the presentation we gave on what we did in 2024, what we are planning in 2025 and a draft definition of our mission, values and goals to help us and our future board as we plan.

And we will be publishing more information about them on this site soon, but we’re proud to welcome three board members who will be joining us this year:

* Brad Greeley
* Drew Richardson
* Russell Williams

Happy City St John’s Annual General Meeting – Today’s the Day!

Just a quick reminder that at 7pm tonight we are meeting tonight to discuss what we have done in 2024, what we plan to do in the year ahead, and to welcome new members to the board. If you are not able to attend in person you will be able to “follow along” by following this Zoom Link or calling in on +14388097799 – Meeting ID: 724 900 6442.

If you think you might be interested in joining our friendly board, why not come along or connect by Zoom. You can register your interest online and learn more about what would be involved on this link, but we would also consider self nominations from participants.

2023 Annual General Meeting is Nov 28th at The Lantern

Happy City’s AGM will take place in the Bacalhao Room at the Lantern, 35 Barnes Road from 7PM to 8:30 on November 28th – it will also be available online via Zoom at a link that will be given here on the day.

There will be eleven seats on the board to fill. We encourage nominations to the board (including self-nominations) be made by November 26th so that information about each candidate can be included prior to the meeting, although the nominations will also be accepted at the meeting itself. Nominees (other than those nominated at the AGM) must fill out this short self-nomination form

At the meeting we will be giving a roundup of what we have achieved this year, providing financial and other reports, and also be considering two bylaw changes, one to correct a textual error regarding our established procedure of electing officers and one to clarify procedures used when there is an insufficient number of nominees for election to the board.

We encourage anyone interested in our work to attend to meet the current board and those seeking to join it. The meeting space is mobility accessible and bus routes 2 and 15 pass nearby. If you need other accessibility accommodations, please email secretary@happycity.ca by November 21 and let us know.
