St. John’s Urbanist Events – September 29 to October 5

This is a big week for urbanist events in St. John’s! Folks interested in city-building have lots to choose from between September 29th and October 5th.

The Small and Adaptive Cities Conference:  From Friday the 29th to Sunday the 1st, people from all over Canada are in St. John’s to talk about how small cities like ours can thrive. NL Architecture Week:  NLAA Architecture Week is an event, hosted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Architects (NLAA), which will take place from September 30, 2017 to October 6, 2017. This will be the first Architecture Week for the Province of  Newfoundland and Labrador and the NLAA is aiming to host an Architecture Week as an annual event in years to come. This year Architecture Week includes many activities that promote architecture and create a place to engage the public in a discussion about the future of our built environment. Gower Street Block Party:  Three big churches in the downtown are collaborating on a block party, which is being held on Sunday, October 1st from 12:30 – 3:30  on Gower Street in front of the Anglican Cathedra.
